Business Tax and Third Party Assessment Payment Methods


Online Payment

You may pay Payroll Expense Taxes, Transient Occupancy Taxes and Tourism Improvement District Assessment Fees using a credit card, debit card or E-check.  The maximum online payment amount accepted is $5,000,000. Applicable convenience fees are listed below.

American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa

2.55% of the total payment

Debit Card


VISA Personal Debit, STAR, NYCE and PULSE, subject to your bank's participation. If your bank does not authorize your card for "PIN-less debit" transactions, your transaction will be processed as a credit card payment with the corresponding 2.55% convenience fee.

$3.95 flat fee



The maximum allowable amount to pay by e-check is $5,000,000.00. Not all accounts are acceptable for electronic payments. If you plan to use an account other than a standard bank checking account, check with your financial institution before submitting payment.



The San Francisco Tax Collector does not receive any part of this fee. This fee is non-refundable

ACH and Wire Transfers

Funds may be electronically transferred to the City and County of San Francisco’s account either through the Federal Wire System or ACH. Specific wiring instructions should be provided to your partnering bank. Click on this link to access a copy of the instructions.

Electronic transfers must be received by the San Francisco Tax Collector, on or before the deadline to avoid penalties, interest and other fees.

Payment In Person

You may pay your property taxes in person at the Office of the Treasurer & Tax Collector. We are located at:
