Today I held a Taxpayer Assistance Day event at City Hall designed to help all taxpayers complete their business registration renewal by the deadline of Monday June 1st.
I also spoke with a number of independent contractors who drive taxis in San Francisco about the importance of everyone doing business in San Francisco registering and renewing annually their business registration certificate.
As the City’s Business and Tax Regulations Code states, every person doing business in San Francisco, including every person who utilizes the streets within the City in connection with the operation of motor vehicles for business purposes for all or part of any seven days during a tax year, is required to obtain a business registration certificate and renew it annually.
I encourage everyone doing business in San Francisco to make sure to complete their business registration renewal by the deadline of June 1st to avoid additional fees, interest, and penalties.
