Task Force Members Present:

Tanea Lunsford (Office of the Treasurer & Tax Collector) facilitated a check-in go-round of all participants. Treasurer José Cisneros welcomed Task Force Members and provided background about how his interest in fines and fees stems from the work of the Treasurer’s Office of Financial Empowerment, that aims to build the financial reserves of low income San Franciscans.
- Agenda Review / Agenda Approval
Agenda was approved by Task Force members. There were no agenda changes.
- Group Agreements
Task Force agreed to practice Group Agreements during meeting times that consist of the following: 1) Deep Listening 2) One person speaking at a time 3) Making space for everyone to participate 4) Participating in Solution-Based discussion.
- Presentation by SF Office of the Treasurer
Anne Stuhldreher (Treasurer & Tax Collector Task Force Member) presented on the national, state and local context of fines and fees.
- Group Input into Our Path Forward
Amanda Fried (Office of the Treasurer & Tax Collector) facilitated a discussion to begin shaping the course of action for the Municipal Fines and Fees Task Force. A detailed approach to reforming fines and fees impacting low income people and people of Color was agreed upon among members.
- Public Comment
The public was encouraged to participate intermittently in discussion and agenda items.
The meeting was adjourned at 5pm.
