Additional Information
Your 2020-2021 registration fee was calculated using your 2019 gross receipts
Your 2021-2022 registration fee will be calculated using your 2020 gross receipts
Because of the many COVID-19 deadline deferrals, the 2020-21 registration renewal filing wasn’t due until April 30, 2021 (it was originally due May 31, 2020). By the time the filing was due, businesses were able to report their 2019 AND 2020 gross receipts at the same time. We built a form for the 2020-21 registration renewal that collected the information for both renewals so that most businesses wouldn’t need to complete another form for the 2021-22 registration renewal.
Some businesses renewed before the form was updated to include the question about 2020 gross receipts. Some businesses did not renew for 2020-21. In either case, in order to renew for 2021-22, all businesses need to complete the current 2020-21 Business Registration Renewal so we have the required information. Once you have completed your 2020-21 renewal, our office will use that information to determine your 2021-22 business registration fee and send you a bill.
You will need the following information to complete the renewal and to calculate the business registration fee:
- Your 2019 and 2020 taxable San Francisco gross receipts (your 2020 gross receipts will be used to calculate next years registration fee)
- Your 2019 San Francisco payroll expense
- The business activities that describe your business
- Average number of employees per week
If your only business activity in San Francisco is as a driver for a TAXI and/or a Transportation Network Company (TNC), you are no longer required to register as a business, or renew your existing business registration.
If you do not have your eight (8) character Online PIN, you may request your PIN here. Processing time may take up to 3-5 business days. You will be unable to renew online without your PIN.
If you are no longer in business, go to Business Account Update and close your account.
