“I am disappointed the Senator feels we acted ignorantly. It is my job and responsibility to follow the law and collect taxes. Every year more than 10,000 bills and notices are returned because of an incorrect or out-of-date address, and most of those owners still manage to pay their property taxes. State law is clear. Whether or not an owner receives a bill, taxes are due. The parties will have a hearing before the Board of Supervisors, and I will be there to explain the state law and our actions.”
